2019 MLS Regular Season – Week 20
Atlanta United vs. D.C. United
Mercedes-Benz Stadium – Atlanta
July 21 – 4:00 PM ET

After a comprehensive midweek win over the Houston Dynamo, Atlanta United are seeking revenge for an early season defeat at Audi Field when they host rival D.C. United Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Atlanta (10-8-3) took full advantage of an early Alberth Elis red card to roll over the Dynamo, 5-0, Wednesday night at home. Darlington Nagbe opened the scoring with his first goal in a Five Stripes uniform in the 27th minute and Brandon Vazquez doubled the advantage two minutes later. Josef Martinez added a second-half brace and Julian Gressel put the finishing touches on the rout in the 88th minute.

D.C. United (9-5-8) also enjoyed a comprehensive midweek win, defeating FC Cincinnati, 4-1, Thursday at home. Lucas Rodriguez scored a goal in each half, including the go-ahead goal after an Emmanuel Ledesma leveler from the penalty spot. Wayne Rooney and Paul Arriola added goals nine minutes apart to put the expansion side away.

In the first meeting this season, Arriola and Luciano Acosta struck for the Black-and-Red in a season-opening 2-0 win on March 3.
