In the third of six Cascadia Cup showdowns this year between the trio of Pacific Northwest rivals, the Seattle Sounders take on the Vancouver Whitecaps Saturday night at CenturyLink Field.

The Sounders (7-4-5) return from a Gold Cup break hoping to end a three-match league losing streak, not including a 2-1 defeat to the Portland Timbers in the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma. Victor Rodriguez canceled out an early Brian Fernandez goal. After Fernandez added a second goal in the 50th minute, Rodriguez had a late chance to level from the penalty spot, but he hammered the crossbar.

For the second time in less than a week, the Whitecaps (4-6-8) rallied from a two-goal deficit to forge a 2-2 draw against a Western Conference foe, earning a point against FC Dallas Wednesday at Toyota Stadium after doing the same at home vs. the Colorado Rapids Saturday. Lucas Venuto set up Yordy Reyna to pull Vancouver to within a goal in the 81st minute before scoring the 94th-minute equalizer.

This is the second Cascadia Cup meeting this year, with the teams playing to a 0-0 draw at BC Place on March 30.
