TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
Columbus Crew SC have struggled after a hot start to the 2019 campaign and reports from Costa Rica claim reinforcements are on their way from Central America.
Costa Rica-based Keish Gomez tweeted on Monday that the Crew will be adding 20-year-old Luis Diaz.
Diaz has most recently played for Herediano, after starting his pro career with Municipal Grecia. He won the second-division title with Grecia in 2017, and the 2018 Apertura title with Herediano, where he also gained Concacaf Champions League experience.
The youngster is a fullback, seemingly a position of need for Columbus much of the campaign, with Harrison Afful hurt most of the way and Milton Valenzuela expected to miss the entire season following a torn ACL.
