Where does LAFC's chase for history sit after 14 games?

It's been quite the start to the season for LAFC.

Bob Bradley's side quickly have become the talk of the league through 14 games in 2019, sprinting out to a 9-1-4 record. The style of play has matched their results, as the team is scoring goals by the handful and playing with an enthralling level of panache.

It's early, but their start has put them in the conversation to re-write the record books come Decision Day presented by AT&T. Carlos Vela is already pacing to break the single-season scoring record, but where do LAFC stack up with the clubs that hold the team records after just 14 matches?

Points

Team Games Points
2019 LAFC 14 31
2018 RBNY 14 26

Last season's New York Red Bulls set a league record for most points in a campaign with 71 and they got off to a strong start despite lasting to the semifinals of the Concacaf Champions League

LAFC don't deal with that competition this season and have now opened up a seven-point gap on where RBNY was at the same point last year, though by that time of the season they were focused solely on league play.

Wins (post-shootout era)

Team Games Wins
2019 LAFC 14 9
2018 RBNY 14 8

Same concept as points: The Red Bulls were still able to enjoy a fast start despite focusing on CCL as well, but LAFC's win over FC Dallas pushes them further ahead of the pace set by 2018 RBNY.

Goals scored

Team Games Goals
1998 Galaxy 14 49
2019 LAFC 14 32

In pursuit of one of the league's loftiest records, LAFC are close to falling too far behind the 1998 LA Galaxy in goals scored yet. The Galaxy scored 85 goals over just 32 matches (!) that season, a mark that hasn't come close to being broken. Tied for second place are 2017 Toronto FC and 1998 D.C. United with 74.

Goal differential

Team Games GD
2019 LAFC 14 +27
1998 Galaxy 14 +23

LAFC have fallen behind the pace of the prolific 1998 Galaxy in goal difference at this stage.
