Atlanta United's Ezequiel Barco registers first multi-goal game in MLS

Ezequiel Barco - Atlanta United - April 13, 2019

Last year Ezequiel Barco arrived in MLS as a record transfer signing from Argentine side Independiente and the expectations matched the size of the transfer fee.

At Gillette Stadium in Week 7, the 20 year old showed another glimpse of the talent that made him such a highly-coveted prospect, scoring both goals to help Atlanta United secure their first win of 2019. It was the first multi-goal game of his MLS career.

He came off the bench in the 18th minute for an injured Eric Remedi and scored shortly after entering the match after a strong run into the New England Revolution penalty area.

His second goal a few minutes after the break is the one that will have fans talking. Barco pulled off a revere-Vela move, cutting in from the left and curling a right-footed shot inside the far post.

Barco's two goals amount to half his entire goal output from 2018, when he scored four times in 26 appearances. This year he has started three of Atlanta's five league matches and already has a total of three goals to his name.
