Major League Soccer announced on Friday that the league has come to an agreement with Twitch to be the exclusive streaming destination of the 2019 Generation adidas Cup.

Twitch, the leading service and community for multiplayer entertainment, will stream 66 matches live from Generation adidas Cup, hosted in Frisco, Tex. from April 13-20. The annual tournament feature MLS academy sides taking on each other and international academy teams from around the world, in the U-17 and U-15 age brackets. All matches that are played at Toyota Stadium will feature Video Review, while 38 of the marquee game streams will include full announcing crews.

“We’re excited to partner with Twitch to showcase the elite players at Generation adidas Cup and engage with Twitch’s vast community for this event. Streaming soccer live on Twitch is an innovative way to reach our fans and provide them with quality content in new ways,” said MLS Senior Vice President of Media Chris Schlosser in a statement.

On top of the match streams, Twitch will also showcase off-field programming through player engagement seminars and coaching symposium talks from some top minds in the sport.

“This agreement with MLS provides a new avenue for developing and growing an active community through interactive viewing,” said Eric Brunner, Business Development and Partnerships, Sports at Twitch in a statement. “MLS is a forward-thinking brand that looks to provide innovative methods that allow their community to make meaningful connections on a global scale.”

The Generation adidas Cup streams on Twitch are the latest MLS event to integrate with the platform, joining the recent 2019 eMLS Cup.

This year’s Generation adidas Cup will see the introduction of a new U-15 tournament between MLS and Liga MX clubs, the latest competitive initiative in the partnership between the two leagues. Additionally, Generation adidas Cup will feature an expanded U-17 competition including 15 premier international clubs, making up the largest field of participants in tournament history.
