Atlanta United: The team to beat in MLS | 2019 Club Snapshot

They're only entering their third season as a club, but defending MLS Cup champions Atlanta United are the team to beat in 2019.

The Five Stripes will return the core of their title-winning squad with a couple of key changes. Former Dutch national teamer Frank De Boer takes over as head coach from Gerardo "Tata" Martino, while River Plate's Copa Libertadores hero Gonzalo "Pity" Martinez replaces ATLUTD icon Miguel Almiron.

And with Golden Boot winner Josef Martinez, who scored a record 31 goals in 2018, and the large, rabid crowds that fill Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta United are a lock to be in contention for back-to-back titles.
