New York City FC 1, AIK 1 | 2019 MLS Preseason Recap

New York City FC played the second match of their Abu Dhabi trip on Friday morning, earning a 1-1 draw against Swedish side AIK.

NYCFC dropped the first match of their trip on Sunday against Copenhagen but new signing Alexandru Mitrita scored his first goal as a member of the Cityzens to help Dome Torrent's team get a result.

The Romanian collected the loose ball at the top of the box five minutes into the second period before clinically dispatching his strike into the roof of the net to celebrate his birthday.

Jonathan Lewis, returning from US men's national team duty, played the full 90 minutes for the Cityzens.
