Jesse Marsch: Manager in the UEFA Champions League? It's possible.

According to BILD, the former New York Red Bulls head coach and current RB Leipzig assistant is in line to become the next manager of RB Salzburg.

Salzburg, a powerhouse in the Austrian Bundesliga and regular competitors in Champions League qualifiers as well as Europa League group stages, have yet to lose in 18 league matches and six Europa League contests this season. As such, current head coach Marco Rose is the subject of interest from other clubs.

Red Bull Salzburg have already opened up a 14-point lead atop the Austrian league and have won the league title in nine of the previous 12 seasons, including the last five in a row.

Marsch joined the Leipzig staff in July as the club currently sit fourth place in the Bundesliga this season. Current Hoffenheim head coach Julian Nagelsmann is already confirmed to take over RB Leipzig ahead of the 2019/20 season, as Ralf Rangnick will move back to his sporting director post.

Bild says Rose could even be Nagelsmann's successor at Hoffenheim.

After three seasons in charge of the New York Red Bulls, Marsch became the winningest coach in club history with a record of 58-35-25. He led the club to the 2015 Supportersā€™ Shield, a U.S. Open Cup final appearance, and two trips to the Concacaf Champions League, including a semifinal appearance in 2018.
