Diego Valeri and Gio Savarese - Portland Timbers

In the second game of their Costa Rican training camp, the Portland Timbers defeated Herediano 3-1 on Thursday. This comes three days after the Timbers beat Saprissa 4-0.


This time head coach Giovanni Savarese rolled out his top players including Diego Valeri, Sebastian Blanco and Diego Chara. All three did not feature in the Saprissa match. Lucas Melano, after scoring two on Monday, added his third goal of the preseason while Roy Miller and Foster Langsdorf provided goals of their own.

The Timbers will travel to Tucson on Feb. 11 and will participate in the Mobile Mini Sun Cup where they will face the Seattle Sounders, New York Red Bulls, Phoenix Rising FC and Real Salt Lake.
