TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
FC Dallas could be close to adding some international experience, with a report from Honduran outlet La Tribuna claiming that the club is in negotiations to sign midfielder Bryan Acosta from Spanish outfit Tenerife.
The report says that Acosta's move to Dallas is a "question of time," with both clubs in negotiations and having set "a deadline of a few days to close the agreement." Dallas' pursuit of Acosta had previously been reported by The Athletic's Paul Tenorio earlier in December:
League source said FC Dallas is set to sign Honduran NT midfielder Bryan Acosta, currently with Tenerife in Spain. #FCD would not confirm or deny, but team source said "we are always looking to improve our roster and are focused on building the best team possible for 2019." #MLS— Paul Tenorio (@PaulTenorio) December 11, 2018
Acosta, 25, joined Tenerife in the summer of 2017 and has been a regular starter for the Spanish second-division club in the year and a half since. Prior to playing in Spain, Acosta began his career with Real España in his native Honduras, where he signed his first pro deal in 2013.
The central midfielder has also established himself as a regular with the Honduran national team. He has featured for Los Catrachos at both the 2015 and 2017 Concacaf Gold Cups, and also started every game of their run to the semifinals at the 2016 Olympic Games.
