Report: Alianza Lima attacker Kevin Quevedo linked to NYCFC, Minnesota

Another young Peruvian player could be on his way to MLS. But to which club?

Alianza Lima attacker Kevin Quevedo has been linked to a move stateside, with Minnesota United and New York City FC mentioned as possibilities by

Both clubs featured Peruvians on the field this past season. Quevedo would join countryman Alexander Callens at NYCFC. The Loons, meanwhile, brought Peruvian Alexi Gomez in on loan for 2018. He made 18 appearances, but the versatile midfielder's loan expired at the end of the season.

The Athletic's Jeff Rueter poured a little cold water on the report from Minnesota's perspective, writing that while Quevedo may be on his way to the United States, he isn't flying into Minnesota for a rumored medical exam with the club.

A 21-year-old winger, Quevedo boasts experience in international competition for Peru's youth sides, and with a new manager in the picture at Alianza Lima, he may be looking for an opportunity abroad to catch the eye of senior national team manager Ricardo Gareca.
