The story behind Atlanta United's fresh haircuts

It takes a village to make a MLS Cup-winning soccer team.

Sure, the players, coaching staff, and front office get the bulk of the credit, and rightly so, but every detail often needs to be just right. And that includes fresh haircuts for the players.

A new profile of newly-minted MLS Cup champion Atlanta United's team barber, Felix Zuñiga, in the Gainesville Times on Friday, shares the story of the fan-turned-barber responsible for the fresh looks throughout the team, including manager "Tata" Martino. He reveals which player's hair is most challenging, and much more.

Zuñiga admitted in the profile that he still gets nervous working on the players.

“I was the most nervous to cut Miguel [Almiron] because he’s one of the stars of the team,” Zuñiga said. “I mean, Josef Martinez is a star, but his hair is more common as in the Hispanic culture.”
