The only Atlanta player ever to score against Portland? It's Julian Gressel

The Portland Timbers have never lost against Atlanta United with two 1-1 draws in their only head-to-head matchups.

But aside from the final score, there has been another common theme in those matches: Julian Gressel scoring a goal for Atlanta United.

The first one back on May 14, 2017 turned out to be his first professional goal -- with his left foot, no less. He struck against the Timbers once again last June.

Can Gressel do it again on Saturday in the 2018 MLS Cup (8 pm ET on FOX, UniMas, TSN, TVAS)?

"It doesn't really matter this Saturday. Whoever scores, whoever assists," he told MLSsoccer.com, "I just want to win the game. That's how all of us feel."
