Would he come off the bench? How many minutes would he play at Yankee Stadium?
Those were the questions surrounding influential Atlanta United star Miguel Almiron entering Leg 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinal series against NYCFC.
It turns out that the Paraguayan international, who had not appeared in a match since picking up a left hamstring injury on October 6, would start against NYCFC and he helped stake his team out to a 1-0 first-half lead before departing at halftime.
Armed with that lead, Atlanta United did whatever was necessary to keep NYCFC at bay in the second half and record their first-ever playoff victory.
The valuable away goal puts the Five Stripes in prime position to advance to the next round heading into Leg 2 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday, November 11.
