Damir Kreilach was acquired by Real Salt Lake back in February as a central midfielder.
But in 2018 he turned into the club's leading scorer with 12 goals scored during the regular season, adding another two in RSL's Knockout Round playoff opening win vs. LAFC. And Kreilach himself says that no goal in his career will ever compare to the strike that provided the momentary 2-2 equalizer at Banc of California Stadium:
"I don't think so [that I've ever scored a better one]," he told ESPN's Sebastian Salazar postgame. "It was the first touch. Sometimes I try to do this on the practice field. This time it was excellent. But I don't want to speak about my game. The whole team was great and it's the way how we have to go forward."
RSL used an LAFC own goal moments later to retake the lead in the seesaw match and they wouldn't concede it the rest of the way.
"We're so, so happy," Kreilach said. "It's not easy to win against LAFC here in this stadium. But we did it and we have to keep going.
"It was unbelievable. It was a great performance by us," he said. "We put great work in everything that the coach told to us before the game. We put it in."
