Fantasy: Week 31 positional rankings

Reid is joined by Michael and Blayne to review all the biggest surprises and most important takeaways from Round 30 of the MLS Fantasy Season and share their final analysis for the last round of the 2019 season. They start by sharing their successes from Round 30 and breaking down the playoff race in the MLSFI Hosts H2H Invitational league and the Patreon Supporters league. They then transition into their review of Round 30 where they try to answer the question “Why is Valeri not starting?” and what impact that could have on the final fantasy round. They next move to breaking down the playoff picture and which teams have the most to gain from Round 31 and finally close out the show sharing their player recommendations where they have a disagreement as to the best way to use D.C. United players in Round 31. Every game starts on Sunday at 4:00 pm EST so be sure to have your teams set and Autoroos primed.

Decision Day presented by AT&T marks the final round of the MLS Fantasy season, and there are big implications all around with fantasy trophies — and prizes — hanging in the balance! With all 24 teams in action, the final positional rankings of the season favors teams that are still vying for a spot in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs or jockeying for a Round One home game.

Bill Hamid has kept a clean sheet in four straight games, and with D.C. United looking to lockup a home game for Round One of the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs, he’s in prime position to collect another shutout at home against an FC Cincinnati unit that ranks last in goals scored this season.

Frederic Brillant has played a big part in D.C. United’s four-game shutout spree, and his 209 total points is tops among all defenders. Hosting an FC Cincinnati side that has just one goal in their last three games, more clean sheet points could be in order on Decision Day.

Vela featuring for LAFC. | USA Today Images

Carlos Vela is one goal away from breaking the MLS single-season goalscoring record and capping off the most prolific season in league history. The MVP frontrunner should see multiple chances to add to his eye-popping numbers against a Colorado Rapids team that is tied for the third-most goals conceded in 2019.
