Trash talking erupts ahead of Secret Walls events for Heineken Rivalry Week

Secret Walls artist interviews - 2018 Heineken Rivalry Week

The first-ever Secret Walls live art events that will precede Heineken Rivalry Week matches in New York (August 20) and Los Angeles (August 22) are serious competition.

The captains for each of the artist teams representing NYCFC, NY Red Bulls, LA Galaxy and LAFC recently completed a reconnaissance mission, preparing for the upcoming Secret Walls battles (videos follow below). In search of inspiration for their murals, they interviewed players, coaches and fans and the trash talking has already begun.

Secret Walls is a live freestyle art event in which two artists go head-to-head in front of a live audience with a 25-foot high wall as their canvas. Only one team will emerge as the winner on the night with on-site judges determining the victor.

Sign-ups to attend the free Secret Walls events are now closed, but fans who didn't register can still follow the live coverage on @MLS and @SecretWalls social channels.

For those fans age 21 and over who did RSVP in time, it'll be first come, first serve at the door with a government-issued ID. Both nights will feature DJs, free food, Heineken beer, food trucks, FIFA stations and free t-shirt customization via the adidas MakerLab.
