Vancouver Whitecaps FC winger Alphonso Davies celebrated his contract with Bayern Munich in grand fashion on Saturday night, contributing two incredible goals and two assists in a 4-2 win over Minnesota United.
The 17-year-old had a whirlwind week, traveling from Vancouver to Philadelphia on Monday to undergo a medical with the Bayern Munich medical staff. His eight-figure signing was announced on Wednesday and he was already back in training with the 'Caps on Thursday morning.
He scored the best goal of his MLS career two weeks ago against D.C. United before being excused from Vancouver's match against the Seattle Sounders last Saturday. The two-week layoff, which included missing the Canadian Championship semifinals against the Montreal Impact, gave him plenty of time to prepare himself for his first match at BC Place since the announcement.
