Real Salt Lake 2, FC Dallas 0 | 2018 MLS Match Recap

For the second time in three days, Real Salt Lake knocked off the Western Conference leaders, defeating FC Dallas, 2-0, Saturday night at Rio Tinto Stadium.

Real Salt Lake (9-8-2), who defeated Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday, improved to 8-1-1 at home this season. FC Dallas (10-3-5) suffered their first loss to a Western Conference foe this season.

The opening goal came in the 11th minute after Sebastian Saucedo stepped in front of Kellyn Acosta for a ball in the box and the FC Dallas midfielder clipped the forward, resulting in a penalty kick.

Albert Rusnak grabbed the ball and put RSL in front, slipping his low attempt into the corner and just past the outstretched arms of Jesse Gonzalez, who dived to his right.

Stationed at the near post on an FC Dallas, Jefferson Savarino saved a sure equalizer in the 71st minute by steering away a Matt Hedges header on frame.

Savarino then set up Luis Silva for the stoppage-time insurance goal to put the game away.
