Minnesota United FC 0, FC Dallas 1 | 2018 MLS Match Recap

FC Dallas rebounded from a road loss last week by defeating Minnesota United FC 1-0 at TCF Bank Stadium on Friday.

The game, largely played evenly on both sides, saw a number of good looks for Minnesota, celebrating Pride Night. But they did not have the sharpness to finish any of their chances, and Dallas grabbed one of their opportunities.

The visitors scored just before the hour mark, as Roland Lamah's header off a corner kick put Dallas up 1-0, and that was enough to make the difference.

Three Things

  • THE BIG PICTURE: Oscar Pareja opted for a young lineup, and after being blown out last week in New York, FC Dallas responded. Even with Mauro Diaz out and presumed to be transferring out of the club, it seems Pareja has more cards in his hand to play. Minnesota, meanwhile, have to be disappointed by the home loss against a somewhat inexperienced Dallas side.

  • MOMENT OF THE MATCH
: Technically it came just prior to kickoff, but Minnesota midfielder
    Collin Martin
reacting to his landmark day after
    publicly coming out
was a good way to start proceedings.

  • MAN OF THE MATCH: Jesse Gonzalez was kept busy by Minnesota, making five saves to earn a clean sheet in the upper midwest.
