LA Galaxy forward Ariel Lassiter puts talents on display in US Open Cup win

Between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ola Kamara, the LA Galaxy have two of the most talented forwards in MLS.

After his performance on Wednesday, LA academy product Ariel Lassiter is knocking on the door to be included in that group.

The 23-year-old attacker, the son of MLS goal-scoring legend Roy Lassiter, scored two world-class goals to help his team advance to the 2018 U.S. Open Cup Round of 16.

And while his spectacular flying scissors kick against PDL side Golden State Force is receiving all the plaudits, the placement and precision of his second strike was a special finish of its own (WATCH both goals above).

"I think scoring goals always throws my name out there," he told LAGalaxy.com after the match. "Whenever the boss wants me, I'm always ready. And I have to stay prepared and mentally focused so that when he does call on me, I'm ready to go."

Lassiter may have only one MLS tally to his name since officially signing with the club in 2016, but the California native now has four career U.S. Open Cup goals for the Galaxy.
