The Colorado Rapids have added offensive firepower to their roster, announcing on Thursday the signing of forward Yannick Boli from Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang. Boli was signed to a one-year contract using Targeted Allocation Money.

The 30-year-old joins the Rapids after one year in China, where he scored 16 goals in 24 appearances for Dalian Yifang. Beginning his career in 2005, the French-born striker came through the youth set-up at Paris Saint-Germain and made his pro debut there, before going on to play for French clubs Le Havre and Nimes, Bulgarian club Chernomorets, Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk, and Russian team Anzhi Makhachkala prior to his move to China.

ā€œYannick is a very strong addition to our attack,ā€ said Rapids executive vice president & general manager Padraig Smith in a team statement. ā€œHeā€™s a natural goal-scorer, and his pace and boldness inside the box will help create space for others. We look forward to welcoming him to Colorado.ā€

Boli is an Ivory Coast international, having made two senior appearances to date for The Elephants.

ā€œThis is an exciting next step in my career,ā€ said Boli. ā€œThe Rapids are a club with an ambitious vision for the future, and I look forward to bringing that vision to life. I canā€™t wait to get started.ā€

The Rapids play their MLS 2018 regular season home opener on March 24 against Sporting KC (9 pm ET | MLS LIVE; on DAZN in Canada).
