D.C. United held a special event on Friday, commemorating the placement of the final piece of structural steel at Audi Field, the team's future home venue.
After more than 2,000 fans and staff, along with D.C. players Luciano Acosta and Steve Birnbaum, signed their names on the final steel beam this week, more than 500 people turned up to watch the piece be put into place at the stadium, which will open on July 14, when D.C. United host the Vancouver Whitecaps in MLS regular season play.
