35 players selected in Rounds 3 and 4 of the 2018 MLS SuperDraft

The 2018 MLS SuperDraft concluded on Sunday, with 20 teams making 35 total selections in Rounds 3 and 4 of the draft.


LAFC picked first in the third round, selecting forward Jordan Jones out of Oregon State. The LA Galaxy followed with the 48th overall selection, nabbing fullback Nate Shultz out of Akron.


The Portland Timbers made the most selections in the third and fourth rounds, selecting four total players. Portland drafted N.C. State defender Caleb Duvernay 61st overall, Oregon State forward Tim Mueller 63rd, Akron forward Stuart Holthusen 64th and NJIT forward Mamadou Guirassy in the fourth round with the 87th overall pick.


A few other teams made selections who played their college soccer in their new club’s backyard. Chicago picked Loyola Chicago forward Elliot Collier 49th overall, D.C. United drafted VCU midfielder Rafael Andrade Santos 74th and the New York Red Bulls selected Colgate midfielder Jared Stroud and Rider forward Jose Aguinaga with the 83rd and 85th picks, respectively.


MLS players will begin reporting to all teams for the start of preseason camp on Monday.
