Barcelona and Spain midfielder Sergio Busquets is thinking about a future move to Major League Soccer, telling Spanish media this week that he’d “like to try an experience in another league, such as MLS.”
Busquets, 29, said he would like Barcelona to be his only club in Europe, but that he’d be open to moving to another continent once his time ends with the Blaugrana. He has multiple years left on his current Barcelona contract.
A product of the Barcelona academy, Busquets has played in 291 matches with the club, winning six La Liga titles, five Copa del Rey trophies, three UEFA Champions Leagues and three Club World Cups. He has 100 caps with the Spanish national team, helping the country to the 2010 World Cup and 2012 UEFA Euro titles.
