– Major League Soccer, in conjunction with national broadcast partners, this morning announced the dates and broadcast details for the two Western Conference Semifinal Leg One matchups in the Audi 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs. Consisting of a two-game, aggregate-goal series, the Conference Semifinals pit the conference top seed against the lowest seeded Knockout Round winner, and the conference No. 2 seed against the highest seeded Knockout Round winner.
In Western Conference Knockout Round action on Wednesday night, the No. 3 Vancouver Whitecaps FC claimed a commanding 5-0 victory over the No. 6 San Jose Earthquakes to comfortably advance to the Conference Semis. As the highest-ranked Western Conference seed moving out of Knockout Round play, Whitecaps FC will face the No. 2 Seattle Sounders FC in an all-Cascadia first leg Western Conference Semifinal match at BC Place on Sunday, October 29 (8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN / ESPN Deportes / TSN / TVA Sports).

Broadcast information for the Audi 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference Semifinals Leg One will be announced following Thursday’s Knockout Round results. At the conclusion of Leg One Conference Semifinals on Tuesday, October 31, details for Leg Two will be announced.
The Conference Semifinals are a two-game, aggregate goal series. If the series is tied after two legs, the team with the most away goals will advance. If the total goals and away goals are equal, then an additional 30 minutes (two 15 minute periods) of added extra time will be played in its entirety. Away goals do not count in extra time. If the score is still tied after extra time, the match will be decided by kicks from the penalty spot in accordance to FIFA’s Laws of the Game.
The winners of the Conference Semifinals will advance to the Conference Championships, which follow the same format of a two-game, aggregate goal series to determine which club from each conference has punched a ticket to MLS Cup, which will be played on Saturday, December 9 at 4 p.m. ET (ESPN / UniMás / TSN / TVA).
