Save of the Week

Montreal Impact's Evan Bush wins MLS Save of the Week for Week 16

His team couldn’t quite take all three points, but Montreal goalkeeper Evan Bush picked up a win in Week 16, earning Save of the Week honors for his stop on Carlos Rivas in the Impact’s 3-3 draw at Orlando last Saturday.

Bush denied Rivas after he was put through on goal by teammate Giles Barnes, diving to his right to keep out the Orlando forward’s low 15-yarder in the 42nd-minute of last weekend’s match at Orlando City Stadium.

The stop picked up 50 percent of the Save of the Week vote, easily beating runner-up Luis Robles, who took home 16 percent of the tally. Colorado’s Tim Howard finished third with 14 percent of the vote, while San Jose’s David Bingham and Seattle’s Stefan Frei rounded out the field with 11 and eight percent, respectively.

Bush and Montreal, who drew 1-1 against Toronto at Stade Saputo in the first leg of the Canadian Championship final on Wednesday, will return to MLS action on Saturday at Columbus Crew SC (7:30 pm ET | TVA Sports in Canada, MLS LIVE in the US).
