The LA Galaxy have been road warriors in 2017, and Wednesday on the Summer Solstice they showed no sign of slowing down, getting a 3-1 win in the high altitude home of the Colorado Rapids.
Galaxy academy product Jack McBean made a grand resurgence with a brace after starting in the forward position. His two goals were his first since the 2013 season, and his rocket past Tim Howard for his first goal was particularly memorable. His second goal was a clever redirect, with midfielder Joao Pedro doing a great job on the buildup work. Romain Alessandrini, who had entered the game just five minutes earlier, secured the win with a penalty kick.
The Rapids did get goal from Dillon Serna, who showed off a fair bit of skill in the process of grabbing his first of the season. He was active in front of goal for much of the night.

Three Things
THE RETURN OF MAYOR MCBEAN:
The Galaxy have struggled this season getting goals from players in the forward position, but Jack McBean took care of that with emphasis. The goals were each examples of something LA has been missing from the
No. 9
position: smashing one from distance off a turnover, and poaching a sitter. Also this:
They Said It
"It's huge. Midweek, in Colorado, at altitude, to get three points - people don't understand how difficult it is. You feel it in your chest the entire time." -LA Galaxy head coach Curt Onalfo
