Report: Red Bulls targeting center backs, attacker in summer window

The New York Red Bulls are looking to acquire some help in both halves of the pitch during the MLS summer transfer window, according to a report from Metro New York reporter Kristian Dyer.

In an MSG segment on Friday, before New York's 1-1 home draw against Toronto FC, Dyer -- citing anonymous sources -- said that the Red Bulls had identified three center backs, ages 21-25, and were looking to bring in one of them this summer. He also said that New York, who currently sit sixth in the Eastern Conference after finishing atop the regular-season standings in 2016, were looking to add another attacking player over the summer.

Dyer, again citing anonymous sources, also said that several MLS clubs have taken an active interest in acquiring Mexican national team midfielder Andres Guardado, now with top-flight Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, during the summer window.
