MONTREAL IMPACT vs. SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES
Stade Saputo | Montreal, Quebec
Wednesday, Sept. 28 | Week #30 | MLS Game #306
7:30 pm ET (MLS LIVE, CSN-CA, TVA Sports)

Winless in their last four, with three losses to Eastern Conference rivals during that stretch, the Montreal Impact will look to get back on track and solidify their tenuous playoff standing. The Impact currently sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, just one point ahead of D.C. United and two points in front of New England. A win would not only help them hold off those teams for one of the final playoff spots but also move closer to surpassing Philadelphia for the No. 4 seed, which comes with a first-round home playoff game.

The Earthquakes, who are in ninth place in the West with 34 points, are not yet out of it but need to get really hot down the stretch after winning just twice in four months.

  • The Impact saw their winless run extended to four matches with a second consecutive defeat, dropping a 1-0 decision to the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena on Saturday evening.
  • The Earthquakes had their winless streak extended to six matches, falling 2-1 to Sporting Kansas City on Saturday evening at Avaya Stadium.
  • The Impact are undefeated vs. the Earthquakes in four league meetings all-time between the clubs, after a 1-1 draw last Sept. 16 at Avaya Stadium. The Impact have won both meetings all-time at Stade Saputo, last a 2-0 win Sept. 20, 2014. The teams have played to two draws in two encounters in San Jose.
  • The clubs also met twice in the group stage of the CONCACAF Champions League in 2013, each team winning on their home ground.
