Accolades for young players are all well and good, but any sports fan will tell you that they're far from the end of the road for any up-and-coming prospect.
Major League Soccer is no exception. For every Fredy Montero and Fabian Castillo, both 24 Under 24 winners who parlayed their MLS success into national team caps and big-money transfers abroad, there's a Ryan Smith or Justin Braun – serviceable players, but ones who never reached the heights predicted of them.
With 24 Under 24 just around the corner, though, we'll take a look today at those past honorees that did make it big. Here's a list of all those who have earned senior national team caps, as well as those who have moved abroad:
