Gyasi Zardes is on pace to return from a broken foot in time for the MLS postseason and the US national team's next round of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup, FOX analyst Rob Stone reported on Sunday.

Stone tweeted that the forward "is very much in play" for both competitions:

Zardes, who has six goals and five assists in 19 league appearances this season, broke his fifth right metatarsal in a scoreless draw against Vancouver on Aug. 27. The injury caused him to miss the Yanks' last two group-stage qualifiers this month and will keep him out of league play through the end of the regular season.

The United States open Hexagonal play on Nov. 11 in Columbus against Mexico, then travel to Costa Rica for a Nov. 15 qualifier.
