A critical match for a pair of clubs looking to haul themselves above the red line is ahead when the New England Revolution entertain Columbus Crew SC on Saturday evening Gillette Stadium. The Revolution have fallen a point out of the top six playoff positions in the conference, their losing slide now at three matches following a 4-0 home loss to Philadelphia Union last weekend. Crew SC are a further six points back in the division in ninth place, their winless streak now at 10 games after their 3-3 draw with conference leaders New York City FC at home last Saturday.

  • The Revolution suffered a third consecutive defeat, conceding four goals for a second game in a row in their 4-0 loss to Philadelphia Union on Saturday evening at Gillette Stadium.   • The Revolution took the lead after just three minutes. A cross was cleared only as far as Lee Nguyen at the top of the area, and he curled in a nice effort high inside the left post. The hosts then doubled their lead in the 34th when Kei Kamara's centering pass was knocked into his own goal by a sliding Columbus midfielder Wil Trapp.
  • Crew SC were able to pull a goal back just before halftime when Ola Kamara ran onto a pretty through ball from Tony Tchani and slipped a left-footed shot under New England goalkeeper Brad Knighton from close range.
  • But Kei Kamara restored the margin against his former team in the 71st minute, capitalizing on a defensive mixup when Crew SC defenders colliding and easily putting home the free ball in the box.
