CHESTER, Pa. -- Roland Alberg scored two goals, including a dramatic stoppage-time winner, to lead the Philadelphia Union to a 3-2 win over the Harrisburg City Islanders, their former USL affiliate, at Talen Energy Stadium on Wednesday.

Trailing 2-0 late in the contest, the City Islanders staged an improbable rally, scoring on a 79th-minute Craig Foster roller and then tying the game on a Bobby Warshaw equalizer at the beginning of stoppage time, despite going down a man when Jose Barril was issued a straight red card in the 88th minute for a tackle from behind on Leo Fernandes.

But Alberg saved the day with a pinpoint free kick from just outside the box to help Philly avoid extra time and keep alive their hopes of advancing to a third straight Open Cup final.

Walter Restrepo opened the scoring for the Union, who started a new front four that featured Restrepo, Fabian Herbers, Alberg and Ilsinho. Herbers assisted on Alberg's goal right before halftime, while scored just three minutes into his Union debut.

New York Red Bulls 1

Rhinos Stadium, Rochester NY (MATCH REPLAY)

Sacha Kljestan's penalty kick in the 20th minute was all the scoring the New York Red Bulls needed against defending USL champions Rochester Rhinos, but it was enough to earn the Red Bulls a workmanlike 1-0 victory in the Fourth Round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup on Wednesday.

Fielding a lineup that featured several key veterans, the Red Bulls earned the penalty when Rochester's Vasilios Apostolopoulos brought down Gonzalo Veron in the box.

Carolina RailHawks 0

New England Revolution 1

WakeMed Soccer Park, Cary NC (MATCH REPLAY)

The New England Revolution endured a weather delay that lasted more than two hours and a spirited display from the Carolina RailHawks, but the first career goal from Homegrown midfielder Zachary Herivaux in extra time (WATCH IT HERE) was the difference as the Revolution advanced in the US Open Cup on Wednesday night.

The teams played the first nine minutes of the game before a lightning delay of 2 hours, 15 minutes. After resuming play, both sides had chances, but Carolina had the edge in quality looks through 90 minutes.

New England moved into a higher gear in extra time. Substitute Chris Tierney’s 93rd-minute free kick bounced off the crossbar and back into play, keeping the score level in extra time. Moments later, it appeared Carolina would open the scoring on a counterattack, but Johnny Orlando’s pass for teammate Brian Shriver was mistimed, and the opportunity passed.

Herivaux broke the deadlock in the 103rd minute, as he received a pass from Lee Nguyen and sent a sharp shot past RailHawks goalkeeper Akira Fitzgerald. It was Herivaux's first competitive start for the club.

Carolina RailHawks (4-2-3-1): Akira Fitzgerald - Paul Black, Connor Tobin, Simon Mensing, Drew Beckie - James Marcelin, Matt Watson (Alex Perez 83) - Marvin Ceballos (Johnny Orlando 67), Nazmi Albadawi, Austin Da Luz (Billy Schuler 98) - Brian Shriver

FC Dallas 2 (6)

OKC Energy 2 (5)

Westcott Field, Dallas

DALLAS – After surrendering a late Oklahoma City Energy equalizer in the 89th minute and a scoreless extra time, FC Dallas managed to escape with a win over the Energy in a penalty-kick shootout.

Oklahoma City struck first in the 26th minute through former Kansas City academy forward Jordan Rideout, who fired a second-chance opportunity past goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez after the FCD backline made a textbook tackle to prevent an initial shot.

But Dallas finally connected in the 37th minute, with offseason acquisition Carlos Lizarazo receiving a pass from Coy Craft, putting on a nifty spin move to clear space and firing a laser past C.J. Cochran to equalize the match.

Lizarazo scored in nearly identical fashion six minutes later, again taking a pass from Craft, spinning past a defender and connecting to put FCD up 2-1.

The score stayed that way until the 89th minute, when OKC captain Michael Thomas headed in a corner kick to equalize the match.

Dallas played with 10 men for the second extra-time session after Zach Loyd was taken down hard and carted off on a stretcher.

The teams were tied 4-4 after the five rounds of PKs with Lizarazo, Mauro Diaz, Kellyn Acosta and Atiba Harris sinking the Dallas PKs (a Matt Hedges shot was saved). In the sudden-death round, an OKC miss allowed Dallas rookie Colin Bonner to play hero and sink the winning PK for the win.

FC Dallas (4-4-2): Jesse Gonzalez – Agustin Jara, Zach Loyd, Matt Hedges, Aaron Guillen – Juan Esteban Ortiz, Victor Ulloa (Kellyn Acosta), Mauro Diaz, Coy Craft (Atiba Harris) – Carlos Lizarazo, Maximiliano Urruti (Colin Bonner)

However, the hosts fell behind in the 105th minute when Indy dangerman Justin Braun turned on a dime just inside the box before hammering home right-footed past Matt Lampson.

Their lead didn’t last long, as Accam jinked his way through the visiting defense close to the right sideline just six minutes later, before unleashing an unstoppable shot past former Fire netminder Jon Busch to force penalties.
