FC Dallas and the Houston Dynamo had to wait a bit to get going, but once they did they played it even and finished level at 1-1, splitting a point in the Texas Derby's second installment.

The teams only got in four minutes of play before the game was delayed for 113 minutes due to a rainstorm in the area, causing heavy water buildup on the field.

Field conditions required some adjustment, but that didn't stop Fabian Castillo from using his speed. In the 23rd minute he was able to sprint and hold up on the wing, creating a passing lane for the bouncing cross that Ryan Hollingshead was able to smash home for the opening goal.

The Dynamo leveled things up in the second half just past 50 minutes of play. Ricardo Clark was trailing the play when a broken up Andrew Winger pass fell directly into his path. Clark hit a rocket that Dallas goalkeeper Chris Seitz had no hope of stopping.

Three Things

OH NOT THE ROAD AGAIN: Coming out of a two-match road trip with two points after losing their head coach is certainly a positive for the Dynamo, but failing to get the win extends their road winless streak to a franchise-record 16 games (12L, 4D). This beats the previous mark set in 2011.
POPPIE'S A LITTLE SLOPPY: Trying to play through the rain in the opening four minutes was a sight, as both teams struggled to complete passes with a ball that had no life to it. Maybe that was enough to throw off Dallas' timing, because at 45 percent passing accuracy in the final third the attack still had some trouble finding a rhythm.
MAURO TROUBLES:Mauro Diaz still sits in a group of players currently third on MLS's assist list, but he's only managed one assist since the beginning weeks of the season. Tonight he managed two key passes from long range, but for the most part concentrated his play in the middle of the field.
