FC Dallas bolstered their back line on Monday, announcing the signing of Argentine defender Agustin Jara, pending receipt of his P-1 Visa.
A product of the youth system at Club Atletico Colon, the 23-year-old defender spent most of the preseason on trial with FCD after accepting an invitation from assistant coach Josema Bazan.
He saw 170 minutes of action in back-to-back preseason wins over New England (Feb. 4) and Grand Canyon University (Feb. 6). Jara also logged another 135 minutes in the FCD's Red and Blue Classic intrasquad scrimmage on Feb. 24 and a 2-1 win for Dallas against their USL affiliate Oklahoma City Energy FC on Feb. 27.
Jara was able to be signed after the close of last week's primary transfer window because no International Transfer Certificate was required, due to his status as a free agent.
