Colombia announce roster for 2016 Rio Olympics playoff vs. US national team

Colombia have released the roster for their U-23 squad in the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympics playoff series against the US U-23 national team.


The countries will face off on March 25 in Barranquilla and again March 29 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, with the aggregate winner taking the final place in this summer's men's Olympic soccer tournament.


Colombian U-23 head coach Carlos Restrepo has selected a primarily domestic-based squad, although multiple players have received senior team call-ups.


Among the headliners are Santos Laguna forward Andres Renteria and midfielder Juan Fernando Quintero, who currently plays at French club Rennes.


Colombia last played in the Olympics in 1992. They have never advanced past the initial stage.
