Report: Manchester United targeting US U-23 national team's Emerson Hyndman

Emerson Hyndman with Fulham

Emerson Hyndman, it appears, may have caught the eye of Manchester United.

HITC reported Friday that the Red Devils are leading the race for the US U-23 national team midfielder, whose contract with fellow English side Fulham is up at the end of the season making him eligible during the summer transfer window.

"He looks to be on his way, we have been told of a number of clubs who want him and are offering big deals, but United look to be in the strongest position," a source reportedly told HITC.

The report also indicated that Tottenham, West Ham, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg have also shown interest. The 19-year-old Texan and former member of the FC Dallas Academy has been with Fulham since joining their academy in 2011.

Hyndman, who captained the US in the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup, made his first-team debut with Fulham in August 2014 and has eight appearances this season.
