The Houston Dynamo bolstered their defensive corps with the addition of left back Abdoulie Mansally on Thursday via trade.

Real Salt Lake traded Mansally to the Dynamo in exchange for a conditional third round pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft, the clubs announced.

“The acquisition of Abdoulie strengthens our roster by adding an additional left-sided defender with significant MLS, playoff and CONCACAF Champions League experience,” Dynamo vice president and general manager Matt Jordan said in a team statement. “He’ll be a welcomed addition to our backline and we look forward to his integration into the group.”

Mansally is a nine-season veteran of MLS, having played with RSL since the middle of the 2012 season, and with the New England Revolution prior to that. The 27-year-old has made 138 MLS regular season appearances in his career to date, notching eight goals and eight assists. He's also made appearances in the MLS Cup playoffs and CONCACAF Champions League.
