It was a preseason Soccer Saturday on February 13 with seven MLS clubs in action. The slate was capped by the lone MLS head-to-head matchup from Las Vegas – the California Clasico between the LA Galaxy and San Jose Earthquakes:

LA take Cali Clasico Cup


Gyasi Zardes connected with forward partner Robbie Keane to score his first preseason goal in the 27th minute as the LA Galaxy beat the San Jose Earthquakes in a preseason edition of the California Clasico in Las Vegas.


Quakes goalkeeper David Bingham played the entire match and made two big saves in the match, one in each half.

Rapids go 3-for-3


Ex-Houston Dynamo center back and Rapids trialist AJ Cochran headed home a goal four minutes from time to give the Colorado Rapids their third win in three during 2016 preseason.


The goal came on a cross from Marc Burch, who entered in the second half and also had a dangerous cross (62nd minute) and a free kick stopped by Sacramento's 'keeper (52nd minute).

Acosta debuts for DC


Luciano Acosta, a 21-year-old Argentine playmaker reportedly closing in on a contract with D.C. United, showed what he can do alongside Fabian Espindola, assisting on his compatriot's 28th minute goal which held up for the victory in Tampa (WATCH IT HERE).


Goalkeeper Benjamin Kirsten entered the match in the second half and made a big save to help preserve the result.

Kaka scores in J'ville


Kaka converted a free kick in the 32nd minute to give Orlando City a halftime lead against the NASL's Armada, but goals by Mechack Jerome (48th minute) and Alhassane Keita (58th minute) 10 minutes apart early in the second half overturned the result to give the home side the victory.

Dynamo stars on the mark


The Houston Dynamo are stacked with attacking players and if they can all get on the board like they did on Saturday, this season could be a fun one for Dynamo supporters.


Mauro Manotas scored twice (34th and 43rd minute), while Erick "El Cubo" Torres (38th minute), Will Bruin (49th minute) and new arrival Cristian Maidana (51st minute) each tallied once to give the Dynamo a 5-0 win over Houston Baptist University.

Impact tie their USL team


The Montreal Impact tied their USL club, FC Montreal, 1-1 in a Saturday morning match attended by over 2,000 fans at Olympic Stadium in Montreal. Those supporters saw 120 minutes of action with four 30-minute periods.


Romario Williams scored in the 80th minute for the Impact, served up by Costa Rican international Johan Venegas, while the equalizer for FC Montreal came in the 92nd minute from Under-18 player Jimmy-Shammar Sanon.
