New England Revolution signing Xavier Kouassi left a club match with an unspecified injury in the 57th minute on Sunday; the extent is currently unknown.

Kouassi – signed February 1 by New England, though he'll remain with current club FC Sion through the end of the Swiss Super League season – exited a 1-0 win over FC Zurich. Swiss reports speculated the injury could lead to a long-term absence, but Sion has not revealed any details, and as of now, there's no official word from the Revolution.

The holding midfielder is slated to join New England as a Designated Player in July following the completion of his FC Sion contract. He is Sion's captain and is a once-capped Ivorian international.
