Ahead of this weekend’s 2015 MLS Cup in Columbus, Ohio, MLS WORKS, Major League Soccer’s community outreach initiative, and Columbus Crew SC have teamed up to renovate the learning center inside the Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbus’ Milo-Grogan location.

During a dedication ceremony Thursday, Crew SC players will officially unveil the Columbus Crew SC themed Learning Center, which will serve as a safe, after-school space for youths ages 6-14 to complete homework assignments and participate in age-based curriculum provided by Boys & Girls Club staff members.

Crew SC players and coaches – including head coach Gregg Berhalter and Kei Kamara, Steve Clark, Michael Parkhurst, Tyson Wahl and Justin Meram – will be on hand for the ceremony and then team up with Boys & Girls Club members to officially test out the new and unique features, which include a media lounge, computer space and white board wall

In addition to the learning center transformation, a representative from Southern New Hampshire University, Official Education Partner of Major League Soccer, will recognize a deserving community member by awarding a scholarship for continuing education.
