Los Angeles loves the Los Angeles Dodgers, and one of the iconic moments in the team's history was "Fernandomania," when Mexican-born pitcher Fernando Valenzuela took LA and Major League Baseball by storm in the early 1980s.

It's too soon to tell, of course, but perhaps "Giomania" will be the next LA sports craze?

At any rate, LA Galaxy Designated Player Giovani Dos Santos entered Los Angeles sports lore on Monday, as he threw out the first pitch at the Dodgers game. Adding to the significance was that the player who caught Dos Santos' pitch was star first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, a Mexican-American who strongly identifies with his heritage and has represented Mexico in international baseball competitions.

So how was the pitch?

The next question has to be when will Gonzalez be coming out to practice free kicks with the Galaxy?
