Transfer Watch: Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano linked to Orlando City SC

Transfer Watch: Luis Fabiano and Kaka

One of Kaká’s Brazilian buddies might just be joining him at Orlando City SC.

According to a report from ESPN Brazil, OCSC is close to a deal to bring former Brazilian national team and Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano to Florida. Sao Paulo FC reportedly won’t re-sign Fabiano when his contract expires later this year, and his family has reportedly been telling friends that the 34-year-old will join Kaká in Orlando following the conclusion of his deal.

Fabiano and Kaká go way back, playing together for years on the Brazilian national team before teaming up while Kaká was on-loan to Sao Paulo in the second half of 2014.

A longtime star in Spain, Fabiano scored 72 goals in 146 La Liga appearances in six seasons with Sevilla. He joined Sao Paulo from Sevilla in 2011, scoring 62 goals in all competitions since moving back to Brazil.

Meanwhile, Orlando City may be looking for a striker, as they have four goals in five games so far this season, two from Kaká and one from an own goal.
