Could Orlando City be close to adding another superstar?

English outlet the Daily Mail reported on Monday that Orlando City SC are interested in signing Mexican international Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez to team up with Designated Player Kaká.

OCSC provided the following statement when contacted by MLSsoccer.com: "It's our practice not to speculate on player rumors. If and when there is something official to announce, we will do so."

The 26-year-old Hernandez has struggled for playing time over the last two seasons, appearing in a smattering of games for Manchester United last year and only seeing 246 minutes of league action while on loan at Real Madrid this year.

Hernandez has one year left on his deal with Manchester United and has no shortage of European suitors. According to the Daily Mail, Premier League clubs Everton, Southampton, West Ham and Stoke City as well as Italian sides AC Milan, Lazio and Inter Milan are all interested in the striker.

While he has struggled on the club level, Hernandez has remained a regular for the Mexican national team. He appeared in all four of El Tri’s matches at last summer’s World Cup and saw action in both of Mexico’s recent friendlies, starting and scoring for Miguel Herrera’s side in their 1-0 win against Ecuador in Los Angeles on March 28.
