Carlos Alvarez did not get into the Colorado Rapids' game on Saturday against the San Jose Earthquakes, but the midfielder found himself on the field anyway and, as a result, will be off the field once again on Sunday when the Rapids host the Seattle Sounders (3 pm ET, UniMas).
Alvarez was automatically suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount for violating the league's policy on entering the field of play and leaving the bench and technical area while celebrating Gabriel Torres' late goal that gave Colorado the lead (watch video).
The MLS Disciplinary Committee also announced that Sporting Kansas City defender Igor Juliao has been fined an undisclosed amount for violating the league's policy on hands to the face/head of an opponent during Friday's game against the New England Revolution (watch video).
Real Salt Lake head coach Jeff Cassar was fined an undisclosed amount for improper bench behavior in the 90th minute of RSL's Sept. 27 game at Vancouver.
