Portland Timbers owner Merritt Paulson cuts a slab from log during 6-0 CCL win

We feel pretty confident in saying that never before has the owner of an MLS team used a chainsaw to cut a slab of wood from a log as a means of celebrating a goal scored by his team.

About 99.9 percent certain. On Tuesday night, Merritt Paulson put an end to that.

But you can't really blame the Portland Timbers owner for wanting to get involved. After all, his team scored six goals in their CONCACAF Chamions League match against Alpha United.

Somebody had to come off the bench and save Timber Joey's legs for the Timbers' next home game.

That looks like pretty solid form by Paulson. We're guessing this wasn't his first time wielding a chainsaw.
