With top goalkeeper Tally Hall out for the season, the Houston Dynamo turned to Tyler Deric. And in Week 28, the former backup showed his value, according to the Castrol Index.
In his seventh career MLS start, Deric racked up the clean sheet in a scoreless draw against the Philadelphia Union, and as a result tops the Castrol Index Weekly Top 20.
Following him in the Top 5 for the week are D.C. United defender Bobby Boswell (No. 2), who grabbed a goal in a wild 3-3 draw against the Chicago Fire, Real Salt Lake's Carlos Salcedo (No. 3), another defender who scored a goal, in his case in a rout over the Colorado Rapids, and a pair of forwards, the Portland Timbers' Fanendo Adi (No. 4), and LA Galaxy's Robbie Keane (No. 5), who also scored in their teams' respective wins.
