MLS Disciplinary Committee announces suspensions for Hassoun Camara, Erick Torres in Week 25 rulings

The MLS Disciplinary Committee on Wednesday announced five rulings from last weekend's league action.


In addition to handing down fines and/or suspensions to four players, the committee officially warned Sporting Kansas City and the Houston Dynamo for a violation of the league’s mass confrontation policy in the 42nd minute of their game on August 29, both teams' first such violation of the season (WATCH IT HERE).


Montreal Impact defender Hassoun Camara has been suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount for serious foul play that endangered the safety of an opponent for his tackle on Federico Higuain in the 64th minute of Montreal's 2-0 win over the Columbus Crew (WATCH IT HERE). He received a yellow card for the foul during the match.


Seattle Sounders midfielder Gonzalo Pineda was fined an undisclosed amount for simulation in the 34th minute of Seattle's 1-0 win over the Colorado Rapids on Saturday (WATCH IT HERE). The committee also fined D.C. United midfielder Luis Silva an undisclosed for simulation in his team’s match against the New York Red Bulls (WATCH IT HERE).


Finally, Chivas USA forward Erick "Cubo" Torres has been suspended one additional game and fined an undisclosed amount for serious foul play which endangered the safety of an opponent for his tackle on Baggio Husidic in the 75th minute of Sunday's 3-0 loss to the LA Galaxy. Torres received a red card for the incident, and will now serve a two-game suspension (WATCH IT HERE).
